AREA ADVISORY TEAM MEMBERS TO MEET BRIDGE DESIGNERS
June 2005 -- Area Advisory Team (AAT) members will meet the engineers chosen to design the Downtown and East End Bridges and learn more about the Bridge Design Selection Process at two meetings in late June.
AAT members from the East End Kentucky and East End Indiana Approaches will be introduced to engineers from Parsons Brinckerhoff on June 28, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Community Center in Utica, Ind. Parsons Brinckerhoff has been selected to design the East End Bridge.
On June 30, AAT members from the Kennedy Interchange and Downtown Indiana Approaches will meet representatives from Michael Baker, Inc., designers of the Downtown Bridge. The June 30 meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the TARC Building in downtown Louisville.
The meetings will feature discussion of the Bridge Design Selection Process and the role the AATs will play in this new phase. Both bridge designers will give a presentation about their background and capabilities and answer questions from guests. Design engineers from approaches adjacent to the bridges will also be invited to attend the meetings.
AAT members provide feedback about design concepts for the section they represent as well as the adjacent bridge. Organizations represented on AATs include neighborhood groups, government agencies and stakeholder groups.
