Kennedy Interchange Area to Experience Lane and Shoulder Closings for Ohio River Bridge Project Drill Work

Louisville, KY (March 31, 2006) – Due to drill work being conducted, temporary lane and/or shoulder closures at the following locations are anticipated in the month of April 2006. These closures will occur between 7:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following morning to allow for drilling:

April 3, 2006:
Right lane closed on southbound I-65 at Jefferson Street

April 4, 2006:
Right lane closed on northbound I-65 at Jackson Street
Partial ramp closure (left side) on southbound I-71 ramp to I-64

April 5, 2006:
Right lane and shoulder closed on eastbound I-64 near the I-71 ramp over I-64

April 6, 2006:
Right lane and shoulder closed on eastbound I-64 near the I-71 ramp over I-64

April 7, 2006:
Right lane and shoulder closed on eastbound I-64 near the I-71 ramp over I-64
Partial ramp closure on northbound I-71 ramp to I-64

April 10, 2006:
Right lane and shoulder closed on westbound I-64 south of the I-71 bridge over I-64

April 11, 2006:
Partial ramp closure on eastbound I-64 ramp to northbound I-71

April 12, 2006:
Partial ramp closure on eastbound I-64 ramp to northbound I-71
Right lane and shoulder closure on westbound I-64 at Beargrass Creek and Story Avenue

April 13, 2006:
Right lane and shoulder closure on eastbound I-64 at Beargrass Creek and Story Avenue

April 14, 2006:
Right lane and shoulder closure on eastbound I-64 at Beargrass Creek and Story Avenue

Road crews will conduct drilling to collect soil samples for data, as teams prepare for rebuilding of sections of the Kennedy Interchange. The survey work will last approximately seven months and is currently scheduled to be completed in the fall. For more information about the drill work, click here.
