The East End Indiana Approach to the new East End Bridge will serve as an extension of IN 265 (Lee Hamilton Highway) from its current termination at IN 62 to the Ohio River and the new East End bridge. The section will add a new, six-lane (three northbound, three southbound) 1.4-mile section to the Lee Hamilton Highway and connect it to the Gene Snyder Freeway in Kentucky via the East End Bridge.
This section features:
- The addition of a new, full interchange at Old Salem Road
- Reconstruction of the I-265/IN 62 interchange
- Updates to Utica-Sellersburg Road near the new I-265 area
Roadway construction for the section is expected to begin in 2010 with a completion target of 2014.
The design consultant for East End Indiana Approach is Burgess & Niple of Indianapolis, Ind. Scott Sondles is the project manager.
