Indiana Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program
The Ohio River Bridges Project’s Indiana Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program will strive for workforce diversity and promote equal employment and equitable business opportunities throughout Indiana. Currently in its formative stage, the Indiana DBE Program’s operational parameters are being established by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The Program’s service area will encompass the eight-county region across the river from Louisville, and will include states outside the core region.
INDOT recognizes that the Ohio River Bridges Project, one of the nation’s largest transportation projects, offers unprecedented opportunity for developing a more skilled work force, and creating a stronger local economic base for years to come. INDOT fully supports inclusion of DBE firms in the Ohio River Bridges Project.
The goal of the Indiana DBE Program is to leverage development opportunities for DBEs. DBEs will have the opportunity to interface with prime contractors, local and state agencies, private companies and other small businesses. This will allow firms to gain knowledge and grow in their understanding of major industry trends.
